
First Lady Iris Jean Jackson is a native of Pitt County. She was reared in the Roundtree Community. She is the third oldest of eight children of the late William and Annie Lee Simpson. She graduated from Ayden-Grifton High School, Ayden, NC in June 1974. Upon graduation she entered the United States
Army where she served from June 1974 until November 1978 as an administrative specialist.
After her military tour she attended Pitt Technical Institute (now Pitt Community College) where she received her certificate in secretarial science. She also received a medical terminology certificate from Fayetteville Community College, Fayetteville, NC.
On July 26, 2008 First Lady Jackson graduated cum laude from the Greater North Carolina Church of God in Christ Academy in Wendell, NC. July 8, 1978 First Lady Jackson married Elder Wilbert Jackson Jr., pastor of Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, Plymouth NC. They are the parent of two children, one daughter Donyata, and one son Kingsley, one daughter-in- law Cynthia, two granddaughters and two grandsons.
First Lady Iris Jean Jackson resides in Wendell, NC where she is employed at WakeMed Health and Hospital as a financial biller for the outpatient day surgery.
It was May 1980, at Flak Kaserne Church of God in Christ, Augsburg, West Germany under the leadership of Pastor Larry Cobb that First Lady
Jackson was saved and filled with the holy ghost. She has served in the Church of God in Christ abroad and stateside. Her love and compassion for people gave her the desire to become an usher. After returning from overseas in 1982, she joined Anderson Temple Church of God in Christ Fayetteville, NC (now Williams Memorial COGIC).
In Fayetteville, NC she attended an usher workshop given by the legend, Deacon George W. Davis Sr. She currently serves as the recording secretary for the Greater North Carolina Jurisdiction usher department.
January 2011 First Lady Jackson was appointed as President of the Women’s Department at Refreshing Center Church of God in Christ in Windsor, NC. There she served as choir member, usher, Sunday school teacher and prayer and bible band teacher.
September 14, 2012 she was appointed over the Women’s Department at Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, Plymouth NC.
February 10, 2013, First Lady Jackson received her Evangelist Missionary license.
February 23, 2013, First Lady Jackson was appointed to Greater North Carolina Jurisdiction executive hospitality.
First Lady Jackson loves the Lord and her desire is to be all the Lord will have to be in this present world.
